Exchange online was down since 05:47
I called Support number every 30 minutes but the agents were busy.
Don’t expect that moving to Exchange online is the best solution.

Dirsync

You got this error when you try to install dirsync.exe.

dirsyncerror

I search for solution on internet for 2 days. As expected, there is no solution from Microsoft web site. The most important things is dirsync is for Office 365 E3 or E4. It is not for Azure machine. You don’t have to have any virtual machine on Azure to be able to install dirsync. The funny thing is your ¬†Office 365 and Azure ¬†must be tied to the same account (email@name.onmicrosoft.com is the best login to be used). If you apply Azure before Office 365 E3 or they are not login with the same account, you will get that error.

Many suggestion from Microsoft said you have to check if your password is expired. But that is not the correct solution. In my case, I have Office 365 2 accounts and one Azure account. I applied Office 365 home premium 2 years ago, Azure 6 months ago and Office 365 E3 1 month ago. My Office 365 Home premium and Azure use same login. That is why I was not able to install dirsync at the beginning.

I fixed the problem by login Office 365 E3 and open another browser to sign on new account on Azure. It works then.

dirsyncerror2

Dirsync version 6553.0002 and newer can be installed on domain controller or virtual machine.
